Episode 15: Silver Coast 2007 Cabernet Franc

North Carolina Wine TV Review:
With a vintage year of 2007, this is a young Cabernet Franc with a nose of strawberries and black pepper. Overall the wine is thin but carries through with pepper, strawberry, cherries, vanilla and some additional red fruit. The tannins on the finish may be too strong for some people. This wine would best be served being stored and held for 6 months. The thinness of this wine, really drops down the potential of this bottle.

Rating: ★★★☆☆

Price: $15

    Guys,

I haven’t yet tried the Silver Coast Cabernet Franc but I did try a bottle of the 2005 Shelton on your recommendation and I disagree with your rating. That wine should have been a five bottle rating. It was superb! The best NC red wine I have tried. Thanks for the tip.

  2. Kipp says:

    John,

Glad you liked the Shelton Cab Franc it is a very good wine and probably the bestvalue we have had. We do have a show with a five bottle rated wine airing soon, so stay tuned!

    Thanks for watching!

Must have been cartoon T-shirt day over at NC Wine TV…. haha, just kidding. You guys keep it real, and I like that.

  4. Jeff Cohen says:

Thanks for the comment, Christian. While I can’t speak for Kipp, but my shirt is from new Durham Brewery, Fullsteam, scheduled to open at the end of the year. Keeping it real is part of our mission.
