North Carolina Wine TV Review:
We love it when guests join us on North Carolina Wine TV. We were very luck to have the frozen food master Greg from Freezerburns join us as a guest host for this episode. Greg does an amazing job reviewing frozen food items each day on his site. We highly recommend that you check it out.
Now let’s get into today’s wine, Skull Camp Wines Anticipation. This wine was originally requested by one of our viewers on Twitter @HurricaneBrian. This blended off dry wine shows good complexity and fruit on the nose with flavors of apple, pear and tropical fruit coming out strongly. In the mouth the fruit continues along with a balanced finish and a slight touch of sweetness. The Skull Camp Wines Anticipation will please a crowd, but still has some complexity that will make wine nerds happy as well. It is a great value for $13.

Thanks for another great review! We agree with you… definitely some green-apple and the jolly-rancher really comes through. The feedback we’ve have from our Anticipation “fans” is that it really appeals… whether you prefer dry or sweeter wines, this wine can do it for you. I also watched “frozen food Friday” and agree that a cream or butter sauce on pasta is not the right pairing. We’ve found that it goes really well with spicy food (think Thai, Indian, or anything with jalapeno peppers). It also goes well with NC BBQ. We did a pairing at Bibb’s BBQ in Winston-Salem a couple weeks ago and it paired really well. I also like the idea of scallops… haven’t done that yet but may give it a try this weekend. Anticipation is a wine that is easy drinking, on the back deck, on a boat, or with apps. I’m glad you enjoyed it… we do too.
By the way, Ken & I just released our Skull Camp Infatuation (the new red) and it is great! Let us know when you want to review… I think you’ll really enjoy it.

G with the dead girl jokes. Nice!
Sonja: Thanks for the comment. There is no way to know we might talk about on the way to reviewing North Carolina wine.
I visited Round Peak Vineyard a few weeks ago and enjoyed it. I liked this wine and there new Infatuation as well, I think it would be great it you went back and reviewed it as well.
Jessica,
We have reviewed the Confusion. It is actually one of our favorite NC wines. See the top link in our ratings box in the sidebar. We are looking forward to trying the Infatuation. Thank you so much for your comment!
We love Skull Camp Wines. They are now available at Barnhills (along with all of Round Peak’s other wonderful wines).
