Episode 59: Elkin Creek 2008 Soft White

North Carolina Wine Review:
The Elkin Creek Vineyard 2008 Soft White starts off with a pure clean smell of earth and sweet grape juice along with levels of honeysuckle. This wine is not overly sweet, with a great tannin structure, though it is a little thin on the bottle. In the mouth flavors of melon and apple come through clear.

Rating: ★★★★☆

Price: $18

About Elkin Creek Vineyard 2008 Soft White (from the winery):
The second vintage of our immensely popular Niagara wine comes a bit less sweet than last year’s, but remains crisp and cool with balanced fruitiness This wine is ideal for a hot summer day or with spicier offerings.

I found this light and crisp white wine, from Portugal, and thought i’d pass it along to you. Its called JM Fonseca Twin Vines. They actually have a sweepstakes they’re doing for a free smartphone. The link for the wine and sweepstakes is below:

Thanks for the information, Frank, and the sweepstakes link. Some of our readers and viewers might be interested, but we only review wines produced in North Carolina.
