Episode 65: Grassy Creek 2006 Cabernet Franc

North Carolina Wine TV Review:
The 2006 Grassy Creek Cabernet Franc is more fruit forward than most of the North Carolina Cabernet Franc we have had in the past. I the nose this wine smells of red fruit, black pepper, dirt, and green peppers. In the mouth this is a well balanced wine. This complex wine has spice and peppery notes of a syrah. These flavors sit along side of some nice strawberry flavors.

About Grassy Creek Vineyard and Winery 2006 Cabernet Franc (from the winery):
Our first Cabernet Franc is a big, juicy wine. It is an aromatic red with lots of plum and smoke characteristics. And the finish is full bodied, velvety, and fruit coated. Only 150 cases produced.
