Episode 95: Westbend Vineyards 2004 Pinot Noir

North Carolina Wine TV Review:
The Westbend Vineyards 2004 Pinot Noir has a very faint nose. The color is a light red with a slightly thin body. On the nose we found dirt, leather, and blackberry. The age has hurt this wine and it has lost some of the fruit that it likely had when it was younger. This wine shows good acidity with notes of coffee and cranberry.

Rating: ★★½☆☆

About Westbend Vineyards: (from the winery)
Westbend Vineyards is located in Lewisville, North Carolina. The 60 acres of prime vinifera vineyards are neatly tucked into the gently rolling countryside in the northwest corner of Forsyth County, where the Yadkin Valley begins. The name Westbend refers to the Yadkin River, which takes a bend to the west in this area and has given the name to the region.
